Building Strong Organizations
Welcome to Gay Douglas & Associates
We are a Niagara-based consulting firm helping non-profit organizations of all sizes become more functional, engaged and effective. Non-profits can be intricate and hard to navigate. We work with senior staff and boards of directors who want to:
- Assess their strengths and potential areas for improvements
- Improve communications and clarify accountabilities across their organizations and with key stakeholders
- Enhance their governance practices – by exploring leading practices and adapting them for their organizations
- Create a high performing team – board, staff and volunteers sharing their strengths by working together
- Make the implicit, explicit – through focused dialogue around the board table, clarifying relationships and imbedding them in policy
We train, coach, develop policy and facilitate dialogue around the board table. We create a safe place for staff and board to communicate expectations and set goals, together.
Over the years we’ve compiled a library of resources, policies and tools we share with our clients. No two organizations are alike so we customize our approaches for every client.
Wondering where to start? Use our Principles and Practices Checklist© assessment tool to help identify the strengths of your current governance practice and areas you may want to address. Complete the tool and send it to me at email@example.com I’ll follow up with a plan to respond to your unique circumstances.
What Our Clients Are Saying
GDA has supported the work of our not for profit, charitable organization for over a decade as a consultant and trainer. Gay demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, accountability, respect and integrity. She excels in thinking strategically and creatively with her associates. She designs highly effective program evaluation measures and delivers proven results.
I have had the privilege of working together with GDA for many years. When our board made a decision to become a fully functioning Policy Governance Board, we utilized Gay and her expertise to provide guidance and direction to ensure that we completed this properly & efficiently for the sake of the families that we serve. Gay’s ability to coach us through this journey while encouraging us to find our own answers was a blessing. Today we are proud owners of our own policies and continually work at living them. The success we are currently experiencing would not have been possible without Gay’s assistance.
Gay and her team bring a wealth of knowledge and experience honed over many years by working with so many different organizations. She’s a gifted facilitator and a really good listener. She helped our Board overcome some major obstacles, helping us talk through and clarify board and staff roles and accountabilities. We function effectively now, with a sustainable infrastructure for the future
